In 2008, the Saybrook Graduate School community came together to support the vision of a multidisciplinary, geographically dispersed, graduate university informed at its core by the humanistic tradition and corresponding principles of sustainability.
In little more than a year, this vision has become a reality, culminating a series of strategic planning initiatives that have resulted in a period of growth and expansion for Saybrook.
In fall 2009 we changed our name to Saybrook University to reflect our transformation. Saybrook University employs models of distance learning in a creative combination with residential study. The university serves as a premier center of learning, research and practice designed to educate those who will shape the future of a more humane and sustainable world.
Saybrook University’s mission is graduate education that inspires transformational change in individuals, organizations, and communities, toward a just, humane, and sustainable world.
Saybrook University‘s first three colleges are:
- Graduate College of Mind-Body Medicine
- Graduate College of Psychology and Humanistic Studies
- LIOS Graduate College (Leadership Institute of Seattle)
Our colleges offer master’s and doctoral programs, grounded in a humanistic perspective for working professionals who want to make a difference in the world. Learn more about our colleges and degree programs.
