See LIOS students in action - with The Gnosis Project

LIOS excels at designing curriculum that supports students in applying learning and leadership competencies toward solving real life problems. As part of the second year curriculum in the Leadership and Organization Development program, for example, students form a Benefit Corporation within which much of the curriculum is delivered.  Students are challenged to model the type of leadership we want to bring to the world as future practitioners, while at the same time working within the context of the company to deliver products and services.

The Gnosis Project, the Benefit Corporation formed by the Fall 2013 student group, is conducting market research in order to identify meaningful trainings for the LIOS community, including alumni and current students. We are exploring how to expand perceptions of the skills and competencies that are required to be career ready when leaving LIOS.

Alumni and current students were invited to respond to a short survey regarding the types of programs they think would be beneficial in helping LIOS students increase impact and success in the world. Informed by this research, Gnosis Project will develop training samplers that validate some of those needs. The results of the research will be presented at the uniquely designed Enterprise Panel event, where faculty and professionals from the industry provide feedback to students.

Confused about what this is all about? We encourage you to visit our website!  We are not legally an active Benefit Corporation (that is – we have not filed for incorporation), and are not sending you to our website as a marketing tool to promote a product (remember, our company is operational only within the curriculum).  We are, however, excited to share about the real life work we are doing in support of the success of LIOS alumni and current students! You can support us by attending Marketplace on Saturday, March 9, 2013 from 12:00-1:30 to shop with us. The event is the curriculum “go live” of the production arm of our company and is held at the Southcenter Double Tree Hotel in Tukwila, WA. We thank you for your support.
