Accreditors Approve Saybrook University Partnership with TCS Education System
Saybrook is pleased to announce that the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) has approved our proposed partnership with Chicago-based TCS Education System (TCS ES) – sending a green light for innovation in higher education that we believe will benefit our students enormously.
“A revolution is happening in graduate education, and this partnership allows Saybrook University to lead the way,” said Dr. Mark Schulman, president of Saybrook University. “Our affiliation with TCS Education System allows Saybrook to continue to deliver the humanistic education that transforms lives but, in the current national economic climate, is increasingly out of the reach of millions.”
TCS Education System is driven by a social change mission that unifies its affiliates and distinguishes TCS Education System from any other higher education enterprise today. With Saybrook’s affiliation, TCS ES forms a partnership of five higher education institutions spanning the nation: The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Pacific Oaks College & Children’s School, The Santa Barbara & Ventura Colleges of Law, and the Dallas Nursing Institute
“TCS Education System is a community of like-minded educational institutions. As an affiliate, Saybrook will have access to high caliber expertise in areas such as enrollment management, information technology, and marketing,” said Dr. Schulman. “Utilizing this expertise will help us reduce costs, make our high quality graduate education more available, and improve the student experience.”
The systems integration between Saybrook and TCS is scheduled to take place in the spring, at which point students should notice a new education infrastructure and enhanced service support. Admissions and marketing functions for prospective students and brand recognition will likewise be revamped in order to both grow the student population and enhance the prestige and presence of humanistic thought in the world today.
“TCS Education System was founded to become a game-changer,” said Dr. Michael Horowitz, TCS ES’ founding president. “As we embark on the next chapter in our journey and welcome Saybrook University into the TCS Education System family, together we will continue to re-imagine higher education and forge new paths that will answer the call to prepare qualified practitioners positively impacting communities globally and locally.”
Saybrook students who have questions about the partnership with TCS ES are welcome to contact Provost Dan Sewell and Chief Financial Officer Mike Cairns, who are project managing the system integration. President Schulman also emphasized that he has an open door policy.
