The mission of LIOS Graduate College is to promote healthy, just and sustainable human systems by educating people to live and lead with integrity.

LIOS History
LIOS Graduate College (orginally the Leadership Institute of Seattle) was founded at Whitworth College, Washington, in 1969 by Robert Crosby (author of Solving the Cross-Work Puzzle: Succeeding in the Modern Organization), John Scherer (author of Work and the Human Spirit and head of The Scherer Center) and Ron Short (author of Learning in Relationship: Foundation for Personal and Professional Success and founder of Learning in Action Technologies). Since then, the Institute has evolved into a center for progressive leadership education unsurpassed in the Pacific Northwest. Now a Graduate College within Saybrook University, LIOS continues its commitment to transformative education; human communication and collaboration informed and energized by integrity; and professional and personal excellence.
