
The LIOS Center for Leadership Studies partners in the presentation of affiliate workshops and trainings which are independently offered by non-LIOS instructors but grow out of or expand on the principles of leadership and self-awareness associated with the LIOS philosophy. EXECUTIVE COACHING THEORIES AND CONCEPTS
Purpose: A two-day orientation to the theory and concepts of executive coaching, emphasizing the importance of connecting business and people issues in leadership coaching.
Topics:
- Definition of executive coaching as both organizational intervention and leadership development, e.g., working with leaders to align teams and streamline decision-making to achieve business results
- Capacities and skill requirements of executive coaches
- Distinctions among several coaching methods -- behind-the-scenes, “live action,” one-on-one, and group coaching
- Systems-based coaching models, e.g., seeing the patterns leaders co-create with their organizations that promote or impede business results; resisting over-functioning for leaders; holding a neutral stance while bringing your own convictions and talents to bear; assessing and mapping alignment issues; and attending to the system co-created by you and your client

Purpose: A
three-day intensive and experiential skill practice in advanced executive coaching methods. Includes in-depth exploration of the issues coaches face when building resilience in their clients and in themselves. 
Topics:
- Practice the four phases of coaching: contracting, planning, “live action” coaching, and debriefing.
- Build client responsibility and resilience in order to help executives to recognize and break ineffective organizational patterns.
- Explore keys to coach self-management in a complex environment in order to strengthen the ability to thrive in tough situations with clients, and to deal with executive anxiety and resistance.
- Gain extensive feedback on your coaching strengths, weaknesses and developmental goals.

Prerequisites:
- InterAct: Quality Workplace Relations - This training raises competency in the building-block skills of executive coaching: listening and giving feedback; recognizing and utilizing specific moments to challenge and/or support others; and using immediate self-correction during interactions.

This begins with the two-day "EQ In Relationship Intensive" which focuses on learning about you in relationship, real-time. It blends emotional intelligence theory with real-time action, practice, and coaching with application and action planning to your real world context. The last two days move to applying what you learned to your professional practice. The goal is to become knowledgeable and competent in the use of
