Certificate Program

Printer Friendly VersionThe Saybrook Certificate Program in Mind‐Body Medicine provides an alternative for the individual who wishes to obtain a comprehensive introduction to mind‐body medicine, without undertaking an academic degree program. The Certificate is a 15 credit program, including five primary courses and four residential conferences. The first three courses are required:
  • MBM 5600 Mind‐Body Medicine - Overview:
this course begins with the Center for Mind‐Body Medicine initial mind‐body medicine workshop as well as related readings, online discussions, and academic papers.
  • MBM 5605 Advanced Mind‐Body Medicine:
this course includes the Center for Mind‐Body Medicine advanced workshop as well as related readings, online discussion, and academic assignments.
  • MBM 5580 Supervision:
following completion of MBM 5600 and MBM 5605, participants will complete a three credit supervision course. Participants will organize small groups and facilitate mind‐body skills groups in their home communities, with patients, volunteers, and/or colleagues. The Center for Mind‐Body Medicine will provide supervision to support Saybrook students as they plan for, facilitate, and process their mind‐body skills groups.

These three courses could be and optimally will be completed in one academic year, for better continuity with a cohort of Saybrook students.

Students must complete six additional credits to meet the requirements of the certificate program by completing two of the following 3‐credit core skill set courses (each course requires a residential practicum component, related readings, online discussion, and academic assignments):
