Thanks, Julie, I completely agree. I think people typically think of "mysteries" as something external to themselves rather than approaching anything within their own life as a mystery. This takes the focus away from oneself and one's existential angst, personal difficulties, self-exploration, etc. While it can be a welcome distraction from the more painful experiences, I think it also can prevent us from fully, mindfully engaging in the more positive and fulfilling aspects of life.
