PhD with Specialization in Clinical Psychology
Program Overview
The PhD in Clinical Psychology program is ideal if you are interested in both the practice and the academic study of clinical psychology. This degree program combines the scholarly expertise and research orientation of a doctor of philosophy in psychology (PhD) with preparation for a career in clinical practice.
The degree program focuses on clinical psychology with an emphasis on humanistic and transpersonal perspectives. Once you graduate, you can join the other Saybrook alumni who are scholars and practitioners, having an impact on how psychology is taught in the classroom and used in the field.
As a Saybrook student, you will have access to electives on existential and mind-body medicine therapeutic techniques taught by leaders in those fields. From courses on therapy throughout the lifespan to medical hypnosis and biofeedback, Saybrook faculty can help you to develop a specialized practice or area of expertise. You’ll get the skills and knowledge you need to be recognized as exceptional.
More information about licensure is available in the Saybrook University catalog.
