Current Projects and Professional Activities
My main professional concerns are transpersonal psychotherapy, spiritual emergence, and spiritual issues in death, grief and illness. I have authored 50 articles and chapters on spiritual issues and mental health, one of which won the Exemplary Paper award from the Templeton Foundation. I co-authored the DSM IV category "Religious or Spiritual Problem" and lecture internationally on spirituality in mental health and mental illness. I am co-president of the Association for Transpersonal Psychology, on the Board of Directors of the International Society for Mental Health Online and Aiki-Extensions, and on the Editorial Boards of the Journal of Humanistic Psychology and the Journal of Transpersonal Psychology.

Research Interests
My particular emphasis is on qualitiative methods, particularly the case study approach. I have published 5 case studies and designed and teach the Saybrook course on this method. My case studies address spiritual issues in therapy.
Expertise Working with Saybrook Students
I enjoy mentoring students engaged in research and then publishing their studies.N/A
