Research Interests
My primary writing and research interests are in the areas of decolonizing, deconstructive, and socially engaged spiritual inquiries into the nature of consciousness, alternate modes of healing, (ethno)autobiography, Whiteness, participatory visions in transpersonal psychology, mythic stories (particularly Old Norse and Saami), shamanism, egalitarian knowledge exchange with indigenous peoples, indigenous autobiographies, and non-Eurocentered notions of sovereignty.
Research Expertise
I am particularly interested in the use of emergent methods, such as ethnoautobiography, cooperative inquiry, spiritual inquiry, and organic inquiry. While I gladly work with other methods within my area of expertise, it is this family of methods that I currently find particularly significant and satisfying.
Expertise Working with Saybrook Students
Mentoring in the use of fuzzy approaches to socially engaged spiritual inquiry. Getting published. Mentoring in finding and expressing personal voice in creative ways within academic settings. Mentoring in decolonizing discourse.
