MA Human Science

Human science is an extremely versatile, low residency graduate program that lets you study what you’re passionate about. It gives you a way to tap into interdisciplinary studies to examine the human experience and become a change agent.

Are you interested in juvenile justice issues or immigration, the intersection of religion and art in a particular culture, international relief, social activism or public policy? Whether it’s women’s studies, phenomenology or cross-cultural dialog, Human science lets you combine your passion and career focus in one degree.

A versatile degree that investigates human potential

Human science can help you do things such as:

  • Gain insight into cultural behaviors and stereotypes
  • Understand how information travels across diverse populations
  • Change how history is taught
  • Find new ways for neighborhood groups to organize
  • Promote peaceful resolution of conflicts
  • Study spiritual practice

The human experience crosses academic boundaries to produce practical learning outcomes. People mix psychology with philosophy with art with media and politics -- so Human Science crosses academic boundaries, too.  That’s what makes it a uniquely powerful way to understand people and culture.

Fits your career goals

Whatever your issue, Human Science lets you study it directly, from every angle. And, because this is a flexible degree, it can be tailored to meet your career needs.

Human Science graduates often go into teaching, but many are working for non-profits, NGO’s, and socially conscious companies.
