PhD Human Science
Program Overview
The human science Program fosters understanding of the human condition in subjective, historical, cultural, and political terms. It employs perspectives such as cultural criticism, critical theory, social constructivism, existential phenomenology, feminism, post-modernism, non-dualism, and contemplative and transpersonal inquiry.
Fits your career goals
Whatever your issue, human science lets you study it directly, from every angle. And, because this is an interdisciplinary degree, it can be tailored to meet your career needs.
Are you interested in children with learning disabilities, the incarcerated, spiritual communities, or veterans returning from war? Human science lets you combine your passion and career focus in one degree.
A diverse degree that investigates human potential
Human science is a diverse degree that lets you study what you’re passionate about. It gives you an interdisciplinary way to examine the human experience and become a change agent.
The world is filled with people on a journey to express the best in their humanity—struggling with the questions of how to live and how to help others. Human science studies these journeys, and these struggles, and develops principles and practices to support humanity's highest expressions.
This unique degree prepares you to respond to current social, cultural, and political challenges of our times. It is rooted in the human science intellectual heritage which is particularly suited to learning about social problems from multiple perspectives.
