Distinctive Features
Earn a PhD in Organizational Systems and become a thought leader in the development of new strategies to address global business challenges and systemic social problems.
This program combines a program of rigorous academic study with:
- Practical application of innovative new ideas and approaches
- Facilitation of change and transformation of organizational systems
- Exploration of new approaches to management and leadership
Students in our PhD program are currently conducting research in the following areas:
- Emerging Chinese and Western management practices in support of employee engagement
- Identifying culture and climate factors that contribute to academic achievement in a high performing urban charter school
- Helping leaders design organizational cultures that foster creativity
- Changing governance processes as a way to increase board effectiveness in an American synagogue
- Developing sustainable inter-institutional collaborations
- A multi-case study of the individual, organizational, and system obstacles to patient-centric emergency medical services system design
- The relationships between leadership approach, emotional intelligence, and training needs for occupational therapist managers working in the United States
- How women transform workplace difficulties through synergic and hermeneutic inquiry
Blended Learning model
As a part of Saybrook University’s Graduate College of Psychology and Humanistic Studies, the organizational systems program combines the best of both online learning and in-person classes and seminars. You are able to take the program remotely, through interactive online classes and study sessions, without relocating or disrupting your schedule.
Twice a year, you’ll come to San Francisco to participate in a week long Residential Conference, working with instructors and fellow students face to face. It’s a highly successful learning model that is specifically suited to people like you who don’t want to disrupt their careers while getting an education.
