Don Moss to Serve on Biofeedback Certification Board

BCIA Congratulates Donald Moss on Election to the BCIA Board of Directors

Wheat Ridge, CO – The Biofeedback Certification Institute of America (BCIA) is pleased to announce that Donald Moss has been elected to serve on its Board of Directors. Dr. Moss joins an elite group of health care professionals who are charged to maintain and uphold the standards and values of the oldest and most renowned certifying body for the clinical practice of biofeedback.

Donald Moss is the Chair of the College of Mind-Body Medicine at Saybrook University in San Francisco. During his nine years at Saybrook, Dr. Moss has developed training sequences in both biofeedback and hypnosis for graduate students in the College of Psychology and Humanistic Studies and in the College of Mind-Body Medicine. He also operates two clinics providing psychological services and mind-body therapies in West Michigan.

Certification demonstrates professionalism and adherence to carefully developed standards as a health care provider. Procedures are consistent with the federal Department of Health and Human Services Guidelines, giving credibility and evidence that practitioners maintain knowledge and skill levels. Health care professionals who achieve BCIA Certification demonstrate commitment to professionalism by completing basic degree and educational requirements, learning to apply clinical biofeedback skills during mentorship, and passing a written examination.

The Biofeedback Certification Institute of America (BCIA) is the only institute recognized worldwide granting certification to biofeedback practitioners. BCIA was established in 1981 with the mission of protecting the general public by establishing strict standards for biofeedback practitioners. Currently, approximately 1,500 health care professionals have achieved this certification in General Biofeedback [1], Neurofeedback [2], or Pelvic Muscle Dysfunction [3] Biofeedback. Many clinicians have more than one certification.
