Work Study: Online Marketing
Saybrook’s Marketing Office is seeking up to three eligible work- study students, 15 hours each, to support community blogging and marketing efforts. Students can be in any college, any program, and can work at a distance.
Primary Duty: write for one of Saybrook University's online forums (such as "The Saybrook Forum," "Rethinking Complexity," and "The New Existentialists"). On average this will involve 2-3 posts a week of approximately 600 – 800 words each, covering topics of interest to the broader Saybrook community (such as issues in Mind-Body Medicine, controversies in psychology, new approaches to sustainability, research in social science, developments in education) from a humanistic perspective. Ability to interview relevant Saybrook community members on any given topic. While posts will be reviewed before publishing, the ability to work independently – on researching and selecting topics, writing first draft copy, and connecting with community members who have expertise – is prized.
Find and utilize relevant links, establish relationships with local, regional, and national blogs in an attempt to trade links for more exposure or cross-post.
Secondary Duty: support Marketing initiatives as required and time permits
Copy-editing
Basic marketing research
Establishing connections within the Saybrook community
Supporting social networking efforts (Twitter, Facebook, etc.)
Please email Kim Sroda at ksroda@saybrook.edu with your resume if you are interested in the above position.
