What do you want from your graduate education?

Career training? Personal transformation? Community? A relevant graduate degree? Networking opportunities?

At Saybrook University, we offer those things. But more importantly, we believe you want your education to matter. To matter to you, to your life, to your career, and to the people around you.

At Saybrook, we want your education to matter too. We’re a university with a mission. We want you to find your passion, and change the world.

Saybrook University is unique: we’re the preeminent humanistic university. “Humanistic” means we put people at the center of everything. It shows in what we teach. We ask the question: what does it mean to be human in the 21st century?

Our psychology degrees don’t just teach you to spot symptoms and fill out insurance forms: they teach you to identify patients’ humanity – to see the person beyond the symptoms – and to work with them, person-to-person.

Our organizational systems degrees don’t just teach you to improve companies: they teach you how to put people at the center of vital transformations. Too many organizations change from the top down … with leaders and CEOs telling people how it’s going to be … and too many organizational changes fail because leaders and CEOs don’t know how to get buy-in from employees and customers. Our graduates can do better: our faculty can show you how.

Conventional medicine is all about what’s convenient for the doctor; our mind-body medicine degrees put the patient at the center of the process. More than just degrees in integrative health and complimentary medicine, our programs teach students to collaborate with their patients and encourage them to take responsibility for their own health.

When you think about it, the most meaningful experiences in your life have probably been humanistic, person centered:  a time when someone helped bring out the best in you and the people around you, rather than treating you as one more student, one more employee, one more cog in the machine.

If you want your education, and your career, to be that way too, then consider our programs. See what our three colleges have to offer:
