I am a social worker with a focus on gerontology and caregivers - both family members and healthcare professionals. Currently, I provide care consultations to individuals who are caring for an individual with Alzheimer's or dementia, or other neurological diseases that have dementia symptoms, helping them navigate the medical system and resources available to assist them. In addition I provide emotional support during the challenges of caregiving and I also provide family consultations to help educate a whole family on the progression of the disease and help each member acknowledge and address their concerns and emotions.
I love research of all kinds and am fascinated and excited by the investigations going on in mind-body/new paradigm medicine. My research interests include caregiver support (to ameliorate burnout), the effects of mind body modalities on chronic pain and illness, and working with individuals at midlife to help them age positively.
