The College of Mind-Body Medicine is looking for a certified Health and Wellness Coach, with graduate level teaching experience to teach basic and advanced coaching for health and wellness skills. This individual must have some familiarity with online learning environments and a desire to facilitate both academic learning as well as skills based learning.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Individual must have a Master’s or PhD
Individual must have either a certificate in Health and Wellness coaching or relevant training in Health and Wellness coaching
Individual must have teaching and group facilitation experience
Individual must have and interest in academic learning and skills in academic writing and critical thinking

The Department of Educational Psychology seeks applications from individuals with research interests in child development and/or lifespan development in educational contexts for two full time nine-month faculty positions, one of which will be tenured and one which will be tenure-track. The College of Education provides strong support for research and opportunities for collaboration with leaders across campus and in the field, and is ranked in the top 25 colleges in 2011 by US News and World Report. We are known for our groundbreaking research, innovative approaches to teaching, and service to the global community. The Department of Educational Psychology is a top-10 ranked department. Faculty members have diverse research interests in broad areas such as cognition and student learning, child development, quantitative/qualitative methodology & measurement, and counseling psychology. Collaborations among faculty members are common across other departments in the College of Education, other colleges and faculty at other universities.

Position responsibilities: Successful applicants will have research interests in the cognitive, social, and/or cultural dimensions of human development in educational contexts. The specific substantive area of interest is open but may include topics such as achievement motivation; gender, race, ethnicity, and diversity in school settings; children’s peer relations; bullying and aggressive behavior; risk and resilience factors; learning and plasticity; prevention science. The successful applicant will be expected to advise doctoral and master’s students, to teach both graduate and undergraduate courses in child development and/or lifespan development, and to assume an active role as responsible members of the College’s scholarly community.
Qualifications: Candidates for either position must hold an earned doctoral degree in educational psychology, human development, psychology, or a related field, and candidates with expertise in longitudinal data analysis and experimental and prevention-oriented field methods will be highly considered. At the senior (tenured) rank, the successful applicant will have a track record of sustained productivity in a significant program of research, and demonstrated success in securing external funding. At the non-tenured junior rank, the successful candidate will have established a clear trajectory for a program of significant research with potential to attract external funding. All applicants should provide evidence of teaching ability.
Salary and Starting Date: Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience.
The proposed starting date is August 16, 2012.

Call for Proposals: The Kinsey Institute Student Research Grants 2011-2012
The Kinsey Institute for Research in Sex, Gender, and Reproduction at Indiana University is pleased to announce a Call for Proposals for The Kinsey Institute Student Research Grants 2011-2012. This program confers sexuality research grants to emerging scholars and seeks to fund significant and innovative research, from a wide array of disciplines and perspectives, that deals with human sexuality. The program is supported by donations from Friends of The Kinsey Institute.
The Kinsey Institute will fund up to six proposals at $750 each, half of which will be from graduate students at Indiana University and the other half from graduate students enrolled at other universities in the United States. It is an expectation that results from the funded studies will ultimately be submitted for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals. In addition, descriptions of the research will be posted on The Kinsey Institute’s website.
Proposals are now being accepted.
Application and supporting materials should be submitted by email to KISRG@indiana.edu The deadline for submission of proposal materials is November 1, 2011.
Applications for funding should include a clear and concise research description (study rationale, methods, and planned data analysis), a budget, and a letter of support from a faculty mentor/advisor. The maximum length is three pages for the research description and one page for the budget. All applicants must be registered as full time graduate students at accredited universities in the United States. In one year’s time following the funding award, we require awardees to submit to The Kinsey Institute preliminary findings of the study in the forms of a one page final report. In addition, the awardees will send the institute any presented/accepted abstracts for presentations at scientific meetings and/or submitted/accepted publications in peer-reviewed journals that are based on the funded research.
