Organizations Relevant for MBM Students: The Society for Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis

The Society for Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis is an international organization of mental health and health professionals dedicated to the highest level of scientific inquiry and the conscientious application of hypnosis in the clinical setting.

Through workshops, lectures, publication of the International Journal for Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis (IJCEH), and other teaching activities of SCEH, members educate health care professionals, academicians, researchers, students, and the general public about the nature and ethical uses of hypnosis and related phenomena.

Student membership in SCEH is $45.00 per years, and includes access to full-text articles for past 50 years of International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis, and for now, access to the American Journal of Clinical Hypnosis.  The website is at:  www.sceh.us

The 63rd Annual Workshops and Scientific Program of the Society for Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis will take place October 10-14, 2012 in Toronto,               Ontario.  Scholarships for students are available at www.sceh.us/scholarships

Donald Moss, PhD, Saybrook faculty, is on the SCEH Executive Committee and serves as certification chair.  Certification is open to students, academics, and researchers.

I have been searching and searching online looking for scientific studies on hypnotherapy and hypnosis and now I have finally found this.  What if I am not a student? Can I still become a member of this and just pay the membership fee?  I have found that people are more confident with a therapeutic treatment when backed by scientific studies and findings.  And most of these studies that are free online have different and have clashing claims.  That's why I am rreally interested with this organization.
