Blake Myers received their doctor of naturopathic medicine degree from Bastyr University in 2014 and a B.S. in Biology from Iowa State University of Science and Technology in 2010. Prior to that, Blake was a medic in the U.S. Army for 3 years.
Blake's career from 2014 to 2022 was focused on the clinical application of natural medicine, the healing arts, and teaching. Clinically, Blake's practice has focused on patients with complex chronic illness, chronic pain, and integrative addiction medicine, as well as primary care for infants to the elderly. Therapeutics utilized in their practice include functional nutrition and nutraceuticals, botanical medicine/herbalism, classical homeopathy, hands-on medicine (myofascial release, craniosacral, visceral manipulation, energy medicine), counseling, hydrotherapy, regenerative injection therapies, healing ceremony, and spiritual channeling.
From 2017-2020, Blake served as an affiliate clinical faculty for Bastyr University, mentoring and teaching clinical medicine to naturopathic medical students. During these years, they also led case-based lunch and learn sessions at the university. Blake also served as a professional TA to support core faculty in physical medicine courses at Bastyr University.
Blake is a published author of the The Natural Apothecary, an introduction to natural medicine and evidence-based applications for common chronic health conditions. They also have extensive experience in freelance medical & science writing and multimedia content creation.
As an adjunct faculty member at Saybrook University from May to December 2022, Blake taught courses in Nutrition Focused Physical Exam, Systems Biology I, and Nutritional Foundations of Mental Health. Blake has served as core faculty at Saybrook University since December 2022.
Currently, Blake lives in Spearfish, South Daokota (in the Black Hills). In their free time, they spend it with family, writing, recording, and performing music, fishing, hiking, building community, and exploring the gems of the Black Hills.
