David Kopp

David M. Kopp, Ph.D., is a scholar-practitioner in human resource development and organizational leadership with more than two decades of experience in higher education and academic leadership. He served at Barry University from 2002 to 2023, advancing to Full Professor and holding successive leadership roles as Department Chair, Associate Dean, and Vice Provost for Extended Learning. His teaching spans HRD, organizational behavior, leadership, adult learning, organizational change, and qualitative research methods, and he has chaired dissertation committees and mentored doctoral candidates throughout his academic career. In addition to peer-reviewed articles, Dr. Kopp is the author of several books, including the textbook Human Resource Development: Performance Through Learning (2nd ed., 2023), Human Resource Management in the Pornography Industry (2020), and Famous and Infamous Workplace Training (2018). His latest, The Myth of Authenticity in Organizational Life: Image Management and the Performance of Self (Palgrave Macmillan) is due out Oct 2026. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Academy of Human Resource Development and maintains an active consulting practice in organizational development and workforce learning.
