David specializes in teaching skills to healthcare professionals that heal burnout and build psychological resilience. He works as a professional coach with both individuals and organizations, including a focus on changing the organizational culture to support self-care and burnout prevention. David has a small clinical practice in Mind-Body Medicine focusing on a psycho-educational approach to emotionally influenced illnesses, including auto-immune diseases, chronic fatigue syndrome, and chronic pain.
He co-founded (with Bonnie Paul, Ph.D., fellow Saybrook graduate) the Freedom to Choose Project, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit that has helped thousands of incarcerated men and women live more peaceful and productive lives, including successfully returning to society when released from prison. David's service work, in addition to the Freedom to Choose Project, includes volunteering for the California Medical Reserve Corps, assisting Santa Barbara County Public Health in Covid-19 community immunizations.
David's hobbies include baking whole grain sour dough bread, bicycle riding, and beach walks with Bonnie and our two dogs.
