Dr. Elizabeth M. LaRue holds a Ph.D. and MLS in library science from the University of Pittsburgh. From 2005-2015, she coordinated and taught the graduate-level nursing informatics program at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing. She has been awarded two Fulbright Scholar grants, enabling her to develop nursing informatics curricula and courses in Malawi, Africa and Scotland, United Kingdom. Following her academic tenure, Dr. LaRue founded and led a startup software company for seven years, leveraging her informatics expertise in the technology sector. Her research focuses on consumer health and health literacy, and she has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters on consumer health, health literacy, mobile technology, and online education.
