Dr. Gina Gonzalez is Faculty in the Department of Integrative and Functional Nutrition. She received her PhD in Exercise Science from the University of Mississippi and her MA and BS degrees from the University of Central Florida. Dr. Gonzalez has taught a variety of undergraduate and graduate health, nutrition, and kinesiology courses such as programming for special populations, nutritional science, and research methods and statistics.
Dr. Gonzalez has several research interests which include behavioral interventions to increase physical activity, dietary supplement attitudes and behaviors, mindful eating practices, disordered eating in athletes, and ethics, motivation and goal orientation in rock climbers. She regularly publishes and presents on these topics at the local, state, national and international levels.
Dr. Gonzalez leads an active lifestyle and enjoys all things outdoors. She spends her free time traveling, hiking/trail running, cycling, camping, and rock climbing with friends and her family.
