Dr. Ibanez brings over 15 years of experience leading clinical and academic research in neuropsychology, mental health, and cross-cultural assessment. Her work often bridges scientific rigor with humanistic values, and she is passionate about advancing research that is inclusive, participatory, and actionable. She has supervised doctoral students, chaired dissertation committees, and guided diverse mental health research teams.
Originally from Spain, she now lives in Wilmington, NC with her husband, daughter, and their rescue dog, Ash. Outside of teaching and mentoring students, she enjoys yoga and meditation, community volunteering, and spending time by the ocean or hiking with friends.
