Dr. Xenos (she/they) is a counselor educator and supervisor with a background in Mindfulness Based Counseling and is a former visiting instructor at Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado. Dr. Xenos has a passion for training new counselors using decolonial, anti-racist and liberatory practices in both the teaching and counseling spaces. Past courses taught include cultural reflexivity, Gestalt theory, Intro courses and practicum. Dr. Xenos comes from a background in intimate partner violence where she specializes in supporting and educating others on psychological and Narcissistic abuse. She has presented at two national conferences on her Vertical Team research on abuse in higher academia and is interested in continuing research on the impact of intersectionality and identity on the experience of abuse. In 2024 Dr. Xenos received the Multiculturalism and Social Justice Advocacy award from the Rocky Mountain Association for Counselor Education and Supervision.
Dr. Xenos brings forth her identities as an entryway into lived experience and understanding and believes in the practices of de-colonial action, anti-racism and liberation in both the education and counseling spaces. Dr. Xenos operates a private counseling practice in which she focuses on using Gestalt theory alongside a liberatory framework. They are a single Mother of four teenage children and currently lives in Colorado with their partner and their two French bulldogs.
