Biography

Dr. Ogbochi McKinney-McDaniels has over 17 years of experience in different areas of public health and non-profit organizations. Her areas of expertise are Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Statistics, Research Methods, and Nutrition. Dr. McKinney-McDanies' experience ranges from being a program planner, researcher, program evaluator, epidemiologist, community engagement specialist, grant writer, and consultant. In these various positions, she developed a trained the trainer's nutrition and health education curriculum for a local county public health department while advocating on the national level for health policy reform. She assisted with the planning of programs to reach Spanish speaking population and churches in two local counties in California. Dr. McKinney-McDaniels developed programs to help increase HIV testing among youth and women in Sub-Saharan Africa while engaging HIV-positive women on continuum of care. Annually, she travels to West Africa where she organizes health screenings and engages communities on health disparities, access to care, and maternal and child health. She consults with non-profits on fundraising approaches, and on process, impact, and outcome measures. Her research interests are HIV and AIDS, antiretroviral therapy (ART); food security/nutrition; infectious and emergent diseases; maternal and child health; reproductive health and health disparities; mental/psychosocial health; and religion and its effect on health.
