Dr. Rob Owens is a seasoned mental health practitioner and mental performance coach specializing in sport psychology, leadership development, wellness coaching, and resilience training. With over a decade of experience, he has supported elite athletes, corporate executives, public safety professionals, and other high performers in enhancing leadership, sharpening decision-making, and sustaining success in demanding environments.
Dr. Owens has held prominent leadership roles in professional organizations. He served on the Council for Wellness Certification Excellence at the National Wellness Institute. He has held multiple leadership positions within the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP), including Chair of the Diversity Committee. He has served as a guest editor for Case Studies in Sport and Exercise Psychology and the Journal of Clinical Sport Psychology, co-founded interest groups focused on Men and Masculinities as well as MMA and Combat Sports, and served on the Certified Mental Performance Consultant Council. He currently leads AASP's Research and Practice Division.
