Rowan Silverberg Wehrmann, PhD, TCTSY-F, E RYT-500, YACEP has worked in the field of coaching, development, and integrative healthcare for over 25 years. A dedicated social justice activist, the heart of Rowan's work is teaching practices which empower people to positively impact learning, performance, health, wellbeing, and life satisfaction. Rowan is currently working as a learning and development consultant at Progressive Corporation, where she integrates mindfulness and resilience competencies into leadership programming and daily work processes. From 2006-2016, Rowan was a mental skills coach for the Cleveland Indians Baseball Organization, helping professional athletes use yoga and mindfulness practices to manage competitive stress and optimize their performance.
Rowan completed her PhD degree at Saybrook University's College of Integrative Medicine and Health Sciences (CIMHS). Her dissertation research focused on trauma-sensitive yoga peer support groups as an adjunct to clinical treatment in a feminist approach to healing for survivors of sexual violence. Certified as a Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Facilitator (TCTSY-F) by the Center for Trauma and Embodiment (www.healwithcfte.org), Rowan led trauma-sensitive yoga peer support groups at the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center from 2016-2020. Her areas of research interest include general MBM topics, mindful leadership, yoga, embodied approaches to trauma healing including sexual and gender-based violence, feminist theory and practice, and trauma-informed approaches to mindfulness practice.
