In addition to her work as an adjunct faculty member in Mind-Body Medicine with Saybrook University, Dr. Russo is also a licensed, board certified acupuncturist and lifestyle medicine practitioner at Hackensack Meridian Health and a NJ-based Community Acupuncture Clinic. She is also a board certified health and wellness coach in private practice.
Her research focuses on equitably advancing health and wellbeing and was recently published in the International Journal of Health, Wellness and Society. She is the creator of SOHL, a self-care skills training program, and the Self-Care Solutions newsletter, both available to the public. She designed and implemented the Senior Healthcare Executive Self-Care study that became the basis for self-care initiatives sponsored by health systems for their communities. In 2018 she delivered a TEDx talk entitled Your Vital Role in Re-imagining Healthcare. She has designed employee-driven wellness programs for Fortune 100 Companies.
She earned a PhD in Mind-Body Medicine from Saybrook University, PhD in Healthcare Management from Touro University, JD in Healthcare Law from American University, Doctorate in Acupuncture from Pacific College of Health Sciences and Masters in Public Health from Rutgers University. As a former attorney and founder of health technology startups, she was inspired to change her career path when her teenage daughter's neurologist at NYU recommended adding integrative practices to the treatment plan that helped control her daughter's epileptic seizures.
