I refer to myself as a food/mood Doctor because I help people identify ways to manage their nervous system function and moods/emotions through food and eating. My focus of work and research is on trauma recovery and eating disorders, specifically trauma-induced eating disorders.
I'm also a die-hard traditional foodie and a culinary adventurist with an absolute love for research. One of the things I love about teaching topics like nutrition and eating is that it requires employing some pretty savvy critical thinking skills... and I am all about critical thinking when it comes to the quagmire of information available to the public concerning health and wellness.
In addition to teaching this course and a few others with Saybrook University, I also serve as the Executive Director and Research Coordinator for Live Life Resources, a 510(c)3 committed to education, research, and advocacy for the facilitation of resilience in individuals, families, and communities.
My area of expertise within the organization is dietary resilience and food security/sovereignty, as well as regenerative agriculture and living systems.
