Dr. Susan Rarick is a licensed psychologist in the Tampa, FL area. She earned her PhD at Lehigh University, her Master's degree at Boston University, and her BA at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. She has worked in various settings, including private practice, numerous university counseling centers, a residential treatment center for adolescents, a psychiatric hospital for children, a university career center, the corporate headquarters of a Fortune 50 company, and at a psychological test publisher. Dr. Rarick has been teaching for over 20 years and has experience in traditional, online, and blended programs at the bachelors, masters, and doctoral level. She joined Saybrook University as the Associate Director of Clinical Training in May of 2022. Prior to that she was a faculty member and the Field Placement Coordinator at Walden University. Prior to that, she was at the University of Delaware holding a joint position as both an Assistant Professor and the Program Coordinator for an MA program in Counseling in Higher Education and an Assistant Director and Psychologist in the Center for Counseling and Student Development. Her professional passions are teaching and mentoring students and providing individual therapy with an integrated humanistic, interpersonal, psychodynamic approach. She has special interests in helping people grow to their potential, develop and maintain personal well-being and healthy relationships, achieve career satisfaction, and navigate the normal developmental phases of their lives. Outside of work she enjoys running, watching golf and other sports, spending time with her family and her dog, and volunteering with Golden Retriever rescue organizations
